From e-Res to NomNom, and a fire station to iOnCall.
I’ve been writing software for more than 25 years. For nearly two decades of that it was e-Res, a Windows reservation system for restaurants. When Windows stopped being the right home for it, we started again rather than patching it, and NomNom is the result: a booking system for phones, tablets and the browser, finalist in the RTIH Innovation Awards 2026.
I’ve also been a retained firefighter for twenty years, which is where iOnCall comes from. It tells a station who’s available, who’s responding and who’s due for training, and I use it on every callout.
Costworks, DayBoat and SiteNotes came the same way: from people with a real job to do and software that wasn’t helping. That’s how we like to build, close to the people using it and for the long run.
