Reservation Chart Updates

We’ve now added the ability to print out the reservation chart so you can work from a paper copy along-side the arrivals report.

Below you can see the reservation chart view both within e-Restaurant and the report version which is ready to be printed.

Table Plan Drag & Drop

It’s been a feature which we’ve been working on for some time and it took a big leap today in it’s functionality.

We’ve now added the drag & drop functionality to move tables between tables.  Also, you can hold the CTRL key while dragging to add the reservation to multiple tables.

When “Cancel” isn’t enough…

Sometimes, especially in the early “trial” phase of e-Restaurant, you add test bookings which you may wish to remove at a later time.

Until now, the only option available was the “Cancel Reservation” but sometimes you want to remove the reservation from the system completely.

Because of this, we’ve added the “Delete Reservation” option to the reservation popup list.  You can find this by right clicking on the reservation and selecting “Advanced…”.

Updated MailChimp Integration

The e-Restaurant MailChimp integration has been updated to be much more reliable and easy to configure.

Using this integration, any reservations entered through e-Restaurant (or made via the web booking module on your website) which have a valid email address, will be uploaded to your MailChimp mailing list automatically ready for your next newsletter.

The settings for this have been moved to the Administration->Settings screen as shown in the below screen…

To activate the MailChimp uploading, simply enter your MailChimp API key into the top edit box, then select the mailing list you wish to use from the drop down list.


Finding your MailChimp API Key

To retrieve your MailChimp API key (or create a new one) log in to your MailChimp account through your web browser and navigate to Account->Extras->API Keys as shwn below.

New Setup Wizard

We’ve been busy over the past 2 months updating many areas of the e-Restaurant system including improvements to several screens, bug fixes and code optimisations which have resulted in a much faster, more responsive system.

We’re almost ready to release the update and we’re confident You’ll like it. We’re pretty excited about this one!

One of the areas which has had an overhaul is the setup wizard for new installations. We’ve improved the workflow to be simpler and more intuitive for new installs.  We’ve provided a walk-through of the new setup wizard below…

And that’s it…

Once you have entered the access code, click on “Register” and your database will be created. You’re now ready to start taking reservations and exploring the e-Restaurant system.
