SMS Service Improvements

We’ve spent a bit of time recently looking at our e-Res SMS integration, which sends customers reminders automatically to reduce no-shows, to see if we could find areas of improvement in both value and functionality.

We’re delighted to say we’ve made big improvements to both areas.

Firstly, due to internal savings and efficiencies, along with a great price we’ve secured with our SMS gateway, we can now offer SMS credits starting from 0.45 pence per SMS credit.  This is an almost 50% reduction in price which we’ve passed on directly to our customers.

Secondly, we’ve added a 2 factor authentication process to the SMS purchase functionality improving security and preventing unauthorised users from topping up the SMS credits without prior knowledge of the restaurant owner/manager.

This works by now requesting a 4 digit code when the “Purchase” button is clicked. The code is actually sent in an email to the restaurant’s email address.

The purchase will only be processed if the correct code is entered preventing anyone from purchasing who doesn’t have access to the email account.
